Hollymount King of Gowran Park
Conor Hoban was seen to good effect on board Hollymount King with a pillar-to-post victory in the one mile apprentice handicap at Gowran Park.
Successful trainer Sean Treacy, who was breaking a long barren run, was quick to praise the young jockey. He said: “Conor gave him a super ride. 99% of credit goes to him. It was a good intelligent ride.
“My last winner was Casela Park (second at Leopardstown last night for trainer Jaclyn Tyrrell) in March 2010 at Dundalk so it has been a long time since then.
“I only have six riding out at the moment. I suppose it is a sign of the times. Hopefully I’ll get a few more horses now.”
Hollymount King was returned at 18/1 but paid 25.60euro on the Tote. No Trimmings was a short-head back in second at 7/1 with Secret Hero and Private Ryan filling out the places at 16/1 and 12/1 respectively.
Samantha Bell, jockey on 9/4 favourite Naked Cowboy who finished last, reported to the stewards that her mount slipped leaving the stalls and broke her stirrup leather as a result.
