History one to Note
History Note in the colours of John Oxx's wife Catriona, could be a name to remember as she was forward enough to make a winning debut in the opening TRI Equestrian European Breeders Fund Fillies Maiden under Fran Berry at the Curragh.
The successful daughter of Azamour was in a position to challenge from a furlong and a half out and she was she led between horses in the final hundred yards, ultimately being pushed out to beat the favourite Rose Bonheur (2/1 in the morning into 11/8) by a short head.
'Slim' O'Neill, representing Oxx, said: "She is a nice filly that had been going good at home though we thought she might need the run. She handled the ground well and that'll probably be it for the season. She is promising."
Meanwhile Fran Berry commented: "The last two foals of the dam won first time out so we were hopeful this one could do the same. She was very professional and she battled on well."
