Hispanic blitzes rivals

The Friarstown Stud Irish EBF Maiden was a one-horse race as Hispanic (3/1) blitzed the field to score by eight lengths.
Dropping to the minimum distance and fitted with blinkers, the No Nay Never colt was in front after a furlong and left his rivals for dead inside the final quarter-mile. Parting Glass won the race for second by a head from Vanguard Star
Hispanic was completing a quick juvenile double for Aidan O'Brien and Seamie Heffernan after Paddington s win in the opener.
“When he ran first time he was very green and then the next day he was even greener,” said O'Brien.
“We said maybe the penny is not dropping at all so we put a pair of blinkers on him at home and he grew another leg.
“Seamie said he let him go at the two and it was over. It just goes to show you what can happen when a horse is mentally a little bit backward.
“He's very fast, he showed a lot of speed and then he quickened off it.
“I'm not sure if there is anything left for him. There might be a listed race in Doncaster we could look at but he might be finished for the year.”
