Lady jockeys were responsible for five of the seven winners at Roscommon today as Lisa O'Neill won the last race, the Four Roads (C&G) Bumper, on the Gordon Elliott trained newcomer Galvin
Katie O'Farrell, Rachael Blackmore (twice) and Jody Townend had earlier ridden winners on the card and O'Neill herself steered newcomer Galvin to a comfortable seven and a half lengths success, over Gateway To Europe
Winning trainer Elliott later said “he's a grand horse and likes the ground and jumps very well. He likes nice ground and travels like a nice horse.
“He's a horse we might bring to Perth for a bumper because Ronnie (Bartlett) is obviously in Scotland, so we'll see what happens.”
