Connections of Shes So Glorious were in hot water with the stewards after the mare kept on late into fourth behind long odds-on favourite Battle It Out in the Follow Us On Social Media Maiden Hurdle.
Trainer Paul O'Flynn was hit with a €2,000 fine while amateur Andrew Burke-Ott was suspended for ten days and the horse banned for 42 days.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Shes So Glorious, ridden by Mr A. Burke-Ott, and trained by Paul O'Flynn. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. Mr A. Burke-Ott, stated that he was instructed to jump off about three quarters the way back in the field of runners and let her travel into the race. He explained that his mount had started well, came off the bridle down the back straight and raced one paced until given a breather around the bottom bend before finishing strong. Paul O'Flynn confirmed the riding instructions and stated that his charge was very hot headed by nature. He explained that in running he thought that his charge would pull up in the back straight but she got encouragement when she passed tired horses and in his opinion she ran above her true ability. He expressed his satisfaction with the ride and his delight with his charges performance. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who stated that Shes So Glorious was post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that the trainer and rider were in breach of Rule 212A(ii). Having taken their previous records into consideration, the Raceday Stewards fined Paul O'Flynn €2,000 and suspended Mr A. Burke-Ott for ten racedays. Furthermore, in accordance with the provisions of Rule 212C(d), the Raceday Stewards suspended Shes So Glorious for forty two days. .
