Heffernan off the mark with Days
Seamus Heffernan opened his account at the Galway Festival 2010 when partnering Days Ahead to take the Arthur Guinness Handicap over an extended mile.
The Eoin Doyle-trained gelding led well inside the final furlong to beat the reluctant Elusive Art by three lengths, with Push Me weakening a further short-head away in third.
“He ran well at Killarney last time but I thought the ground might be a bit quick for him tonight. He's a big, strong horse and the plan is to go 3yo hurdling with him,” said Doyle afterwards.
