Heffernan Double at Ballinrobe
Seamie Heffernan completed a 77/1 double in the opening races at Ballinrobe, as he conjured a dramatic late surge from Kaitlins Joy to nab even money favourite, Lara Celeb who had looked certain to score, on the line in the Costello McDermott Handicap.
The Ballydoyle man had earlier got All Diamonds to put his best foot forward late to take the claimer.
Pat Martin, trainer of Kaitlins Joy, said, "She's a typical backward filly. It was her first time on soft ground. It was a terrific ride by Seamie, he took his time and gave her every chance to get home." (EM)
