He Is Top Class gained deserved compensation for his Sligo disqualification on August 6th, by comprehensively landing the spoils in Ballinrobe's second event, the David Heneghan Memorial Handicap Hurdle.
Off a two pound higher mark the son of Quws had Paul Townend up for company on this occasion, and he enjoyed the graduation to two and a half miles.
The 6/1 shot travelled best, before asserting entering the straight, going on for a seven length win over morning market mover, Copy Print
"That was grand - a bit of compensation for Sligo," reflected successful owner and trainer Donie Hassett.
"To tell you the truth I thought he wouldn't handle the ground and the two and a half. Obviously we were wrong and he loved the two and a half as he was able to react. He jumped great, he didn't jump as well in Sligo."
D.N. Russell, rider of Marvelous James trained by P.J. Costello, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled throughout this race.
