Hat-trick up for Element
Core Element completed a hat-trick when grinding out victory in the fillies handicap at Roscommon.
Shane Buggy 's charge has been better than ever this season after returning from a long-break and defied a 9lb for her recent Sligo success. Compelling had hit the front from pacemaker Independent Girl with over a furlong-and-a-half to run but was strongly pressed inside the final furlong.
Core Element responded gamely for Gary Carroll to wear down that rival and record a three-parts-of-a-length victory.
"That's the ground she wants. She could possibly go for a fillies handicap over seven in Galway," said Buggy.
"Gary said she showed a slight bit of temperament today going into the stalls, however, and feels it might be better to give her a break."
