Hartur D'arc showed a smart turn of foot to take the concluding Jim Ryan Racecourse Services(Pro/Am) INH Flat Race at Cork.
Declan Lavery stalked his rivals into the straight and while momentarily looking in trouble when the leaders quickened inside the furlong mark, he held his mount together to finish out strongly.
A former point to point winner, the Tom Gibney trained five-year-old looked a nice prospect when mid division on his racecourse debut at Navan in January and obviously improved for that introduction.
His win came on good ground so there must be every possibility he will be even better in less demanding underfoot conditions.
Declan Lavery said; "he did it well and is a very good horse.
"It didn't really go to plan up the straight - I wanted to stay out but had to switched in on the worse of the ground. It took him a while to get going but he pulled up like a fresh horse. It didn't take much out of him and he will come on from the run.
"I rode him to win his point to point for Paddy Turley so it was good to keep the ride on him and it's my first winner for Tom (Gibney) - Tom fancied him today."
