Harrington doubles up with easy winner Striking

Striking ran out an easy winner of the concluding mile-five handicap at Gowran Park this evening to give trainer Jessica Harrington a double on the card.
The Equiano gelding went to post 5/4 favourite having switched back from jumping after a runner-up effort over hurdles at Fairyhouse ten days ago.
Shane Foley gave his mount a confident ride, producing him to lead on the bridle early in the straight.
He asked him for an effort going to the furlong marker and was looking around in the closing stages as the five-year-old comfortably held Elle Dorado Rock by a length-and-a-half.
Harrington said:- “He’d a good run in Fairyhouse and it’s the first time we really had him fit.
“He’s had problems with his sinus and in the last month he’s really turned a corner. He’ll mix hurdles with the Flat.
“Shane said he was so keen that he thought he would fall in a hole and he got to the furlong pole and he took off. He could go up to two miles on the Flat.”
Harrington had also struck in the fillies maiden with Snowcapped
