Grey Mountain Mist recorded his second win this year for Dusty Sheehy when coming out best in the competitive Thurles Handicap Chase.
The 12/1 chance didn’t go unnoticed in the market having opened at 18/1 on track, and led approaching the final fence.
Danny Mullins’ mount stayed on strongly on the run-in to prevail by two and a quarter lengths from Bellgrove Templemichael was a further half a length back in third, while Hard Bought was just a neck away in fourth in this 2m2f event where a good number of the 16 runners were in with a shout entering the straight.
Rachael Blackmore was stood down for the remainder of the day after a fall early on from Shaluna
Sheehy said, "He needs anything with 'good' in it (going description) and I've been waiting since his Tramore run for the right ground. I'll try and find another handicap before the rain arrives and he can also go back over hurdles."
