Jamie Powell extended his advantage in the apprentice title race when bringing Greek Flower from well off the pace to land the Download The New Tote App Handicap.
The 9/1 chance, unpenalised for a recent Navan maiden win, was very keen in the early stages and Powell did well to anchor her towards the rear before switching left to get a clear run at his rivals from shortly after halfway.
The daughter of Australia, bred by owner Reggie Roberts, picked up well to lead in the final furlong and was ridden out to beat Mercurial by a length.
Winning trainer Johnny Feane said: “She won well again and the last day gave her a bit of confidence.
“She’s in again on Sunday so we’ll see how we go.
“She flew through that ground and it’s nice for Jamie going for the apprentice title.”
Now on 27 winners for the season, Powell is four clear of Conor Stone-Walsh, Adam Caffrey and Luke McAteer.
