After a brilliant round of jumping Peacocks Secret didn’t deserved to get caught, and cling on he did under Rachael Blackmore to land the Your Ultimate Guide At Attheraces.com Novice Handicap Chase at Naas.
Blackmore got this spot on from the front on the John ‘Shark’ Hanlon-trained 7/2 favourite.
The Mee family-owned Court Cave-gelding got close to the last and nodded slightly on landing, but was game from there home to repel Sir Bob and Stowaway Forever by half a length and two lengths.
It was an excellent afternoon all told for Bagnelstown-based Hanlon. He was on duty at the point-to-point in Lisronagh County Tipperary himself, where he saddled a winner and a second with Mister Tickle and Dime A Dozen.
“His jumping is really good and he’s progressed again from the last day. When he’s in front he’s enjoying it and carrying you so I just let him at it," reported the winning rider.
“We got in under the last but other than that he was very good. He gives his all, and it’s great for the Mee family.”
