Graineyhill was yet another double-figure priced winner at Sligo this evening, as he took the Rockshore Lager Handicap Hurdle at the odds of 14/1.
Successful at Clonmel and Fairyhouse earlier this year, the Gordon Elliott trained seven-year-old was a well-beaten third on his most recent start at Perth.
Fitted with blinkers for the first time this evening, the son of Craigsteel was settled in mid-division and was pushed along in the early stages by Jack Kennedy.
He took closer order from three out and led from the next, keeping on well under pressure on the run-in to see off the challenge of Dawn Raider (10/3fav) by two and three parts of a length.
The front pair went fourteen lengths clear of top-weight Pass The Ball (4/1) in third.
Kennedy said afterwards: "He jumped a little bit sticky early on but once he got into a rhythm and found his feet he ran on well. He dug deep from the last."
