The Kilsheelan Beginners Chase proved a typically incident-packed affair with Goulane Davina eventually coming out on top in the hands of Barry John Foley.
The point-to-point winner was ending a frustrating sequence of places both over hurdles and fences, and stayed on well under pressure on the run-in.
The drama started as soon as the first fence where Bitsandpieces fell and brought down both Kilcaragh Boy and Mount Masada
The key moment came at the second last where 3/1 favourite Double Island held a length advantage when pecking badly and unseating David Mullins.
This left Goulane Davina and Logical Song to fight out the finish, and the former found plenty after the last to score by half a length from her flattering rival. Dont Kick Nor Bite was a further nine and a half lengths back in third.
Winning trainer Seamus Spillane's son Dinny said, "There was no mares' races for her for another month so I chanced running her as the rating band of the race suited her. I've nothing planned."
