Good day for the McKiernans with a double
Shane Crimin rode his second winner to complete a double for trainer Oliver McKiernan and owners the Redgap Partnership (McKiernan's family) as Changing Times added to the earlier gains of Profit Margin in the preceding handicap chase. Changing Times just held off Mazuri Cowboy in the Fairyhouse Membership Maiden Hurdle.
The win was bringing up a 44/1 double for Rathcoole, County Dublin-based McKiernan. Uneasy favourite It's The Ice I Like was left twelve lengths behind in third.
Like the vast majority of McKiernan's horses Changing Times comes from a good National Hunt family with Young Dubliner, Cab On Target and Everett in his pedigree. He was losing his maiden tag here at the twelfth time of asking.
Dubliner Crimin's previous win was also on an Oliver McKiernan-trained horse, that being Aon Sceal at Wexford back in July. (GC & EM)
