Golden just gets Call in finale
The concluding p2p.ie geldings point-to-point bumper turned into a match between Golden Call and Clondaw Warrior with the former just edging the verdict.
The pair had it between them from before the straight in the 2m2f contest and settled down for a ding-dongle battle in the closing stages.
Nina Carberry just got her mount's head in front on the line to snatch the victory as the pair flashed past the judge together.
The Gordon Elliott-trained gelding was making his first start since a point-to-point victory at Punchestown in February.
"He's a big old fashioned three-mile chaser and isn't really a bumper horse at all," said Elliott afterwards.
"He'll go for a break now probably and come back to jump hurdles."
