Go Sandy Go scores for Mangans
Father-son combination of Jimmy and Pat Mangan claimed the opening Killinan Hurdle at Thurles today with Go Sandy Go who benefited from a feather weight, to overturn 8/13 favourite Footy Facts
Go Sandy Go, in receipt of 26lbs from Footy Facts, made the running and although she was headed before from three out, rallied to regain the lead again at the final flight, eventually scoring a six lengths success.
Afterwards trainer Jimmy Mangan reported “Go Sandy Go showed great determination to fight back but the key to her is heavy ground – she loves the mud.”
He added “she had a nice pull at the weights but has already won here and will go for another hurdle race next.”
