Ger Lyons was delighted to get a winner for Sheikh Fahad when Glass House claimed a big pot in the Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sale Stakes at the Curragh.

Gary Carroll pounced late on the 12/1 shot who got up in the closing stages to pip another in the Qatar Racing colours, War Queen by three-parts of a length.

The winner was making just her second start having been third in a Navan maiden in July.

Lyons also saddled 10/3 joint-favourite Reckless Endeavour who finished eighth, while the other market leader Miss Elizabeth was ninth.

"She's a very good filly. It was a hell of a performance from a little green filly," said Lyons.

"There's not much of her. She needed a bit of luck and it takes a good one to win from that draw. She was last out of the stalls.

"I like the colt a lot but he's been plagued with sore shins and blew up after two furlongs.

"I told the lads to help each other out and come in a straight line and track each other.

"That's something for Sheikh Fahad who handled yesterday's commotion very well. He took it like a man and got on a plane to come over here and make a presentation in the Champion Stakes.

"If anyone deserves a winner this weekend it's him."
