Glamorous Approach completed a first and last race 26/1 double for Jim Bolger and Kevin Manning in the FBD Hotels & Resorts Faithlegg House Hotel Handicap at the Curragh.
The New Approach filly was successful twice as a juvenile and was gaining her first success since those wins in this 1m4f event.
The well-backed 7/2 favourite headed Stronger Than Me just inside the final furlong, and kept on well to beat Spruce Meadows by two lengths with Felix Mendelssohn a neck back in third.
Connections were on the mark earlier in the day with newcomer Gasta in the two-year-old fillies maiden.
Bolger said, “She seems to be back to herself now. We’ll see how the handicapper treats her for Ascot.”
Manning said, “She pricked her ears in front but kept pulling it out. She was entitled to win on her last run behind Zhukova.
“It’s soft ground but no worse. It’s the first time we have been around there (round course) so it’s fresh.”
