General can't manage Bobos

The opening Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden at Fairyhouse was supposed to be all about 1/4 shot General Marshall but he had to yield to Ger Lyons' newcomer Buenos Y Bobos
A beaten favourite on three of his four previous starts, General Marshall was settled in by Seamie Heffernan and he quickened well initially when asked down the outer in the final quarter mile.
However Buenos Y Bobos, a gelded son of Big Bad Bob, who had chased the pace under Colin Keane, wasn't for passing once hitting the front as the hotpot's effort flattened out. Half a length eventually separated them at the line.
Representing the winning yard, Shane Lyons said: "He's green and will come on for the run. We've always liked him. I liked the way the first two pulled clear, and he'll go now for the Listed race (Star Appeal Stakes) at Dundalk (Oct 10)." (AM & EM)
