Gealach puts experience to good use to land a punt

Gealach reversed previous form with favourite Pasley and Top Line Tommy when victorious in the Play The Tote 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle at Punchestown.
Favourite Pasley could manage only second, whilst Top Line Tommy was fourth, as Gealach changed gear decisively from before the final flight under Davy Russell.
Backed from 7/1 into 9/2 joint second favourite, the victorious Sea The Moon gelding eventually made it fourth time lucky over hurdles, by four and a half lengths from Pasley. Oak Park was four and a quarter lengths back in third, and winning trainer Gordon Elliott also has care of that fellow.
“He has plenty of experience. It might not have been the strongest race in the world but it’s another winner," said Elliott.
“I’m not sure where we will go now. He stays well and could be one for the Fred Winter.”
Thomas Coyle, trainer of Sevenaday (GB), reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge finished lame.
