Owners Noel and Valerie Moran and trainer Gordon Elliott completed an across the card double when Hollow Games won the concluding Irish Injured Jockeys INH Flat Race at Leopardstown under Jamie Codd. Grand Roi landed the Grade Two hurdle at Limerick earlier under Denis O’Regan and here Hollow Games kept his unbeaten record intact by a length and three parts. Lispendense (50/1) ran well for third, a length and a quarter back, but the 1/2 victor was solid in adding to a previous bumper and a point-to-point win.
“This is a very good horse. He's a lovely staying prospect and it was nice to get that done today,” said Codd.
“He's still a big green horse, he's 16-3, and he's going to improve again.
“He's a really nice addition for Noel and Valerie and he's going to be good.
“He's a staying horse for the future. When you're able to do that, win two bumpers, you're more than likely going to end up being a good horse.”
The Stewards interviewed Mr A. McMahon, rider of Eurotiep (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.
Mr. Justice Tony Hunt, Chairman, absented himself from this enquiry. Mr. Peter N. Reynolds, acted as Chairman.
