Galway non-runners
There are a number of significant non-runners at Galway's Tote-sponsored card this afternoon including Laganbank in the opening maiden hurdle.
The Willie Mullins-trained gelding was generally a 5/1 third favourite but has been ruled out lame.
Jimmy Lambe's Skylancer (16/1 this morning) will not run in the following 2m4f handicap hurdle due to a stone bruise, while Some Slam (generally 8/1) has been taken out of the mile handicap (6.00pm) as he was declared in error.
The absence of Some Slam has resulted in first reserve Maunsells Duke getting in, and the Dermot Weld-trained gelding is sure to cause a significant shake up in the market.
Stylish One (6/1) was earlier taken out of the 60-95 rated mile handicap (6.35pm) as she was found to be in season.
All 22 runners have stood their ground for the featured €200,000 thetote.com Galway Plate, which means the reserves Ponmeoath, The Last Derby and Salesin will not get a run.
Sam Twiston-Davies takes over from Paddy Brennan aboard the Gordon Elliott-trained Hoopy in the three miles handicap hurdle (4.10pm).
