Galvin Causes Another Surprise
Brian Galvin, caused a surprise with his first winner, Tower Of Lloyd, a 20/1 scorer at Downpatrick in the middle of June and when Dubai King third reserve for the Leo McMorrow Memorial Handicap Hurdle got his opportunity, he made the most of it to provide a second success for the Meath handler, this time at odds of 14/1.
Bobby Molloy (fourth winner since returning to the saddle) dictated from the outset on this ex-Stephen Mahon-trained gelding and it was clear from two out that he wasn't going to be pegged back, the German-bred crossing the line twelve lengths to the good from Brians Girl The eight-year-old was losing his maiden tag over obstacles at the twenty second attempt.
