Trusted Ally justified his 95 rating to win the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (C&G) Maiden at Gowran today for trainer Michael O'Callaghan and jockey Leigh Roche.
The son of Territories finished fifth of six in last month's Group 2 Futurity Stakes on his previous start and today successfully dropped back to maiden grade as he edged ahead close home to beat Sir William Bruce by a head.
O'Callaghan wasn't present and afterwards jockey Roche stated “I jumped and got into a nice position but we didn’t go overly quick. I was travelling very well and it turned into a bit of a sprint.
“I was waiting for one to fall away and nothing did until the last second. I just got the split at the right time and he got his head down at the right time.”
