Rock On Ruby's trainer Harry Fry registered his first Irish winner with his Fletchers Flyer landed the closing O'Reilly Recruitment INH Flat Race at Punchestown today, under Derek O'Connor.
Former Champion Amateur Jockey and ten times Champion Point to Point jockey O'Connor made all on the son of Winged Love, which eventually held off the challenges of Sub Lieutenant and Totally Dominant
Afterwards Fry, who oversaw the preparation of Rock On Ruby for 2012 Champion Hurdle before subsequently taking out a trainers' license of his own, stated “Noel Fehilly said that Derek was the one man to have on his back. He is a real galloper and is as tough as nails and we knew that he'd stay well.
“We'll put him away now and he is a nice prospect for next season. ”
