Freshened-up Peacock takes Cork opener
On his first outing for John Kiely, Peacock's Pride with Andrew McNamara up sporting the distinctive silks of Raymond Keogh (white with beige stag's head and a red cap) took full advantage of favourite, Bravely Fought s penultimate flight mistake, to land the opening www.corkracecourse.ie Maiden Hurdle.
From that point on this two miler was over as a contest as the victorious son of Groom Dancer strode away to win by a comprehensive five lengths.
Kiely said: "He had nice form on the flat and the change of scenery may have done him some good. He was freshened up and that stood to him. We'll mix-it with him now but he won't run on firm ground."
