Fox/Coleman score at Bellewstown
Joe Fox was in the winner’s enclosure this evening when his charge Lightening Sky landed the Sam Dennigan & Co Handicap Hurdle under Kevin Coleman.
Winning trainer Fox said afterwards, “We were very lucky to get into the race this evening as we were 2nd reserve but Colm Murphy rang us and told us he wasn’t running so owe him one. She’s a tough little lady and we’re thrilled she won, Kevin gave her a super ride."
Fox also stated, "I feel very sorry for Robbie Colgan who usually partners her, he had to go to Wexford this evening. We will head to Galway for a handicap hurdle on day one of the festival next.”
