Forces Of Darkness makes it 3rd time lucky
Forces Of Darkness a half-sister to Galway scorer Independent Girl from the first crop of Ballylinch-based stallion, Lawman, caused a 25/1 surprise in the opener at Bellewstown under Wayne Lordan.
On outing number three, Forces Of Darkness, trained by David Wachman, benefited from Kashmir Peak lugging away from the rail in the straight, coming home strongest to beat All Approved and the aforementioned Kashmir Peak by a length and a quarter and a neck.
Wayne Lordan said: "She has been green but she got her act together today. She went to the line well there and she is a nice filly to go forward with."
Forces Of Darkness paid 44/1 on the Tote but she wasn't entirely unfancied given that there was a hint of promise in her Roscommon effort last time.
