Fonze struts his stuff at Kilbeggan
The Fonze has proven a star for the Eoin Doyle yard and popped up again to score at Kilbeggan tonight.
A 148-rated chaser, his hurdle mark of 113 looked inviting but the nine-year-old was a big drifter on track (5/1 to 8/1).
He ran out a cosy winner, however, leading after the second last and going on for a four-and-a-half length win over Lucy Stone
"If I had three or four like him it would make the job a lot easier!" said Doyle.
"Compared to his chase rating he was well in and he likes that good ground.
"He could go back over fences and we'll look for a nice chase over the summer. He'll mix it.
"He's only rated low on the Flat as well and we could look for a two-mile Flat race. We'll get something in Galway for him or some of the other festivals."
