Foley impresses on Hujaylea
Hujaylea (7/1-6/1) got up in the final strides of an ultra competitive mile apprentice handicap to earn jockey Shane Foley high praise from trainer Mick Halford.
'He's a young man going places and gave that horse a cool ride,' said Halford after the six-year-old touched off the gambled-on Barromante by a neck. The runner-up was available at 33/1 in the morning but went off at 8/1.
'He loves that quick ground and deserved that as he was going up a few pounds for some good placed runs without winning. A mile and a furlong might be his perfect trip,' added Halford.d Halford.
