Dont Doubt Me (12/) landed the 2m4f handicap hurdle for horses rated 80-109 to complete doubles for Philip Rothwell and Jack Foley.

Foley was patient, as he had been on earlier winner Berliet Express and gradually moved into contention approaching the entrance to the straight. The Scorpion gelding was produced to challenge Sargent Lightfoot at the last and stayed on well to beat that one by half a length with Gali Flight back in third.

It was a 90/1 double for trainer and jockey.

“I got everything wrong today. The horse we thought would win (Only One Plan) didn't and the other two have won but it's great,” said Rothwell.

“Jack has rode out his claim now on that winner. 90 per cent of the weigh room wouldn't have won on him, I thought it was a brilliant ride.

“He wasn't simple the whole way around and when he jumped the last he waited and held on to him to get his head in front on the line.

“I thought it was super and I'm very lucky that he's helping us out a little bit at the moment. He's a very talented rider.

“It's lovely to get the win, he's owned by a syndicate of guys and the breeder Brendan Caulfield, who is local to me, is part of the syndicate.”
