Flashy Approach made a successful debut in the Like Us On Facebook Maiden, as he made all to score under Declan McDonogh for John Oxx.
The son of New Approach was 11/10 with Paddy Powers this morning but he opened on-course at 7/4 before being backed into 6/4 favourite at the off.
The Jaber Abdullah owned colt, was pushed along in front over a furlong out and he asserted and drew clear inside the final furlong, staying on well to score by two lengths. Wexford Opera finished second at 2/1 under Kevin Manning for Jim Bolger while newcomer Dr Funkenstein was a short head back in third at 12/1 under Gary Carroll for Ger Lyons.
John Oxx said afterwards: "He is a nice professional sort of horse. He has been working well and he goes on fast ground.
"He had a few little niggly problems and that's why he didn’t get out last year. The wet ground last year would have also been against him.
"It looks like that or maybe a mile is his trip and there is a winners race at Fairyhouse in a few weeks that we might consider for him.
"He takes after his sire a bit in appearance. He is a nice scopey horse and has similar markings."
The winner is out of Flashy Wings, who was a dual Group 2 winner for Mick Channon, while she was also twice placed in Group 1 contests.
