Flame gets deserved success
Quench The Flame gained a overdue success in the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Maiden at Sligo for Tom Hogan.
Ben Curtis held his mount up in the early stages before moving through the field heading to the straight.
He hit the front with over a furlong to run and kept on strongly in the closing stages to post an impressive eight-length margin over Takasima
"I'm delighted to win for (owner) Herb (Stanley). He's been a long time trying to get his head in front and he's had great patience," said Hogan.
"At least he's got over that barrier now. I don't know where the next move is now."
