Senor Carrots (6/1) shed his maiden tag on his first attempt running over five-furlongs today as the Andy Oliver-owned and trained gelding defied top weight to win Dundalk's Book Online At DundalkStadium.com Handicap.
Ridden by Bill Lee, the five year old son of Pride Of Dubai quickened well in the final furlong to beat Hero Of The House by three and a half lengths.
Oliver stated “he's a horse we have persisted with and he had a few issues early on in his career but they all came good last year.
"He rattled off a couple of quick runs at the end of last year which were slightly disappointing and below what we expected. We brought him back and he obviously wants good ground.
“He slid into that company, we were rated 66 and we dropped a pound for a run at the Curragh. He had a nice draw and Billy rode him well, so things worked out.
"He is a relatively unexposed horse and we worked him against our other good sprinter, The Highway Rat, and he leads him so we knew there was ability. However good lead horses aren't necessarily good racehorses but everything worked out."
