Midnight It Is was the well backed winner of Limerick's Nevilles Bar Irish EBF Maiden Hurdle (div II) today, getting off the mark for trainer Gavin Cromwell, owner Brendan Keogh and jockey Keith Donoghue.
Out of luck with three recent down-the-field chase runs, the son of Midnight Legend was today backed from morning 7/2 to 15/8 favourite, and in the race scored readily from Pats Fancy.
Afterwards Cromwell stated “the was entitled to be thereabouts off his mark and it was grand to get a win on the board as he had been trying hard without succeeding.
“He should go on a bit of nicer ground and will race away during the summer. He'll also go back chasing sometime.”
