Dylan Oak (9/2) came from a long off the pace to win the first division of the two-mile handicap hurdle under Annalise Cullen.
This was a first success over jumps for the young rider who rode five winners on the Flat last year.
The seven-year-old winner, placed three times previously over hurdles, built up quite a head of steam from early in the home straight and passed plenty of rivals before going out after Vale Of Glory on the run-in. Cullen got her mount home by a neck and the first two were nicely clear of the remainder with Inforapenny and Golden Sandbanks filling the frame.
Dylan Oak was hanging right in the closing stages and bumped the runner-up close to the line but the placings remained unchanged after a stewards' enquiry.
The father of the winning rider, Denis Cullen, trains Dylan Oak and commented: "I'm delighted. He's not winning out of turn as he was running good races in defeat last year and he ran a lovely race the last day with Denis O'Regan.
“I'm delighted for Annalise to get her first winner over hurdles and hopefully the stewards enquiry goes well.”
