Fire Tree finished best to take the seven furlong nursery at Dundalk for David Wachman and Connor King.
The 9/4 favourite ran fourth behind An Duine Uasal Varrane and Texas Radio before coming off the bridle to move into third with less than a quarter of a mile to travel.
At the furlong marker he collared Varrane and was soon ridden by King to take the race by the scruff of the neck. However, Jaqen H'ghar (7/2) got a split between horses and came through to challenge Fire Tree inside the final furlong.
The pair battled it out with 150 yards to race but it was Fire Tree who held a slight advantage all the way to the line as he prevailed by a neck. Orotaveo came home third at 12/1.
This made it three winning favourites in a row at Dundalk.
This was Fire Tree's first success in his fifth race.
