Fethard trainer scores Curragh success
Fethard, Co Tipperary based David Nagle recorded his third career winner when his Maarek landed the N. Conlon & Sons BMW & Peugeot Handicap at The Curragh this evening.
Ridden by Wayne Lordan, the son of Pivotal (backed from 10/1 in the morning into 11/2f) got to the front close home to deny Fiddle Player and Airspace
Afterwards Nagle stated “we’ve been looking for soft ground all year as he is a typical horse by Pivotal.”
“Hopefully he’s ok in the morning and if he is he’ll take his chance in the Paddy Power Sprint here on Sunday. He is reasonably well drawn again on Sunday.”
Paddy Power subsequently cut Maarek’s price to 16/1, from 20s, for Sunday’s race.
