Fenton's Charm completes Cork double
Trainer Philip Fenton recorded a double at Cork today when his Old Charm landed the concluding McCarthy Insurance Group Bumper, to add to the earlier win of Kilflora
Winning rider James Carroll, partnering his 12th racecourse winner, produced the son of Selkirk with a well timed challenge to lead inside the final furlong, eventually staying on for a four lengths win.
Afterwards Fenton stated “Old Charm had a brilliant first run at Punchestown but ran deplorably on heavy ground at Thurles, where it was only an afterthought to run him. He is probably better on better ground though and is a grand horse who did it in style today.”
