Not A Bad Oul Day won from a career high rating at Limerick today as the Johnny Feane trained five year old landed his ninth race in the At The Races App Munster Mile Handicap.
Ridden by Dylan Hogan, the 92 rated son of Captain Rio battled gamely to make all and fend off Stenographer when scoring a seventh win from his last ten outings.
Afterwards a delighted Feane stated “a couple of the front-runners in the earlier races stuck at it so we decided to go forward in front and it is the only way to ride him. He looked like he was going to get swallowed up but put his head down and kept galloping.
“The fact (non-runner and front-runner) Tribal Path came out due to transport difficulties was a help so we won’t complain about that and got a nice soft lead today. He is versatile ground-wise and has a big heart which is the main thing.
“I think we’ll bring him out foreign to a Listed race next - we might go to France with him. They did an article in the Racing Post recently about front-runners in France and how French jockeys have to wake up, so hopefully they are asleep that day as well!”
