Patrick Mullins will have taken pleasure in 'retaining' this year's renewal of the EBF Ronan Lawlor Memorial Mares (Pro/Am) Bumper at Gowran today, as the Champion Amateur scored on easy winner She's Otto (4/11 favourite).
The race, run in memory of Mullins' longtime friend Ronan Lawlor, was over as a contest from early in the straight as She's Otto went clear of her rivals, and in the end scored an easy 13 lengths win over So Sorry Sarah
Mullins was similarly successful in 2015 with 34 lengths winner Kate Appleby Shoes and following today's race trainer Mags Mullins, an aunt of the winning rider, stated “I think she's very nice and we'll see how she comes out of this but we could maybe look at the mares bumper in Liverpool.
“There's probably plenty for her at home also and she's a fine big mare and the family has been great to us.”
