Hillhead Runner (22/1) made all the running and clung on to win the 4-y-o fillies' bumper at Tipperary by a nose.

Unplaced in two previous outings, the daughter of Mahler was unpestered out in front under David Doyle who got his fractions spot-on.

Two lengths ahead when ridden a furlong out, the winner was strongly pressed in the closing stages by 9/4 favourite Shadows Of My Mind but held on by a nose in the colours of Willie Devlin.

Trainer Peter Fahey said: “I suppose she got an easy enough lead in front and she stayed at it.

“When I went down through the form of the race, I thought there wasn’t much pace in it and I was saying to David to jump off and make plenty of use of her.

“She’s probably finished up now and will come back over hurdles next year.”
