73-rated filly Eziva sent off the even-money favourite, gained a winning bracket in the 1m4f maiden at Tramore for Dermot Weld and Leigh Roche.
The daughter of Medaglia D'oro, owned and bred by the Aga Khan, looked ill at ease on the bends but was never far from the pace and took over in front with half a mile to race. Skyquake in common with the winner fitted with first-time cheekpieces, soon looked a big threat as she moved up to challenge but Eziva pulled out more in the closing stages to score by two and a quarter lengths.
"She stays very well, so I was making sure there was a good pace," said Roche.
"I could have done with getting a lead for longer. The cheekpieces definitely helped her as she is just lazy."
