Eyesontheprize shocks at 50/1
Trainer Pat Fahy and his jockey son Conor Fahy combined for their second bumper win in a week, when Eyesontheprize sprang a 50/1 upset in the Dunsany Mares Bumper at Navan today.
The daughter of Shantou arrived late to head Sunnydale High on the line for a short head win.
Afterwards Fahy Snr, who trained He’s A Delight to win at Gworan on Saturday, stated “that was brilliant! She worked well two weeks ago and we were saying to ourselves, ‘could we go on that?’”
“I didn’t think she’s go on that ground today but she’s tough and will go for a winners’ bumper next – we wont go hurdling for a while. She wasn’t really ready when she ran in the Bewleys Bumper at Punchestown but she was qualified and we said we’d take out chance.”
The winner paid 87/1 on the Tote.
