- Experience continues her rise up the ranks
Experience continues her rise up the ranks
Experience justified favouritism in good style in the Group 3 Grangecon Stud Stakes for fillies at the Curragh in the hands of Wayne Lordan.
In the Derrick Smith silks, Lordan waited to launch his challenge, travelling well through the race and once asked for her effort the juvenile got to the front inside the final furlong on the way to beating Somasach (beat Experience on their respective debuts at Tipperary) by a length and three parts.
Winning trainer David Wachman said: "She is a classy filly and did it well. She has plenty of speed, a touch of class and would like better ground like a lot of the Excellent Arts.
"Wayne was happy with her and she is very straight-forward. She has plenty of size and strength, she has a high cruising speed and quickened well. She is in everything – the Lowther and she might step-up to seven furlongs later on for the Moyglare.
"We have a few other reasonable fillies so we'll have to sort them out and see where we are."
Meanwhile Wayne Lordan said: "She'd like the ground a little bit better. She has loads of pace though and she travels easy. She could step up to seven furlongs later on but six furlongs is probably her best trip."
