The Student Raceday 11th April Novice Hurdle cut up badly with three non-runners but it nonetheless provided a potentially useful winner with Legal Exit scoring for in form pair Jim Culloty and Bryan Cooper.
The son of Exit To Nowhere made virtually all and shook off the challenge of Bonisland from the last for a two lengths win.
Afterwards Culloty, fresh from his Cheltenham winner with Lord Windermere, stated “Legal Exit is a right horse and we'll throw him out in a field now. He'll come back for novice chasing in the autumn and hopefully he'll have a bright future over fences.”
The winner carries the colours of Culloty's sister-in-law Mary Samworth.
Clonbanan Lad, Moscow Mannon and Unika La Reconce were each taken out due to the change in ground conditions.
