Oaks fifth placer Flattering (joint 5/2 second favourite) brought up a Ballydoyle double at Cork today in the Group 3 Munster Oaks under Seamie Heffernan.
Donnacha O'Brien won the opener for his father Aidan on Mohawk and later in the card's centre-piece Heffernan made all and asked for more three furlongs out on Flattering. Bloomfield tried hard but she eventually had to yield by a length, with another Ballydoyle hope, Sizzling back in third.
"She'd a very good run in the classic at Epsom and I thought if she reproduced that run she would be hard to beat," said Heffernan.
"She's getting fit and she's straight forward and genuine. The plan was to jump and go forward and if I wasn't comfortable I'd let something else make it."
S. Foley, rider of Written Word (GB) trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got upset in the stalls.
